Home Addition Process

North Jersey Pro Builders How It Works

  1. An Idea- All projects start with an idea and the idea always has a purpose, weather you need more room for a growing family or your home simply needs to be updated to maintain your equity. There are many different reasons to have work done to your home and the options are endless.

  2. Consult your municipality- If you haven't found someone to help regarding your local regulations, consult with your town construction official and zoning officer to ensure your ideas conform with your municipalities adopted building codes.  They will be happy to give you information regarding the town's construction standards.

  3. Estimates- Before you pay an architect to draw up plans, make sure your ideas fall within your budget. We suggest getting rough estimates from at least 3 reputable home improvement contractors.  It is common that homeowners pay an architect to draw plans before they find that the project is way over their budget. This is a waste of time and money and will end up costing more money in the long-run.

  4. Financing- Now that you know how much your project will cost it's time to get your financing in order. It's always a good idea to stick with the lender that you have developed a good relationship with already but if you are not satisfied with there services, we can refer you a refinancing specialist that can explain all options that are available and give you the best financing to suit your needs. As a suggestion the amount of money that should be available to start your project should be 25% more than the estimates you have received. This amount will cover municipal fees, architectural fees, and potentially furnish your new living space. Or in most cases you can simply not use it at all.

  5. A detailed plan & design- Now that you have your financing in order the fun part begins and it is time to fine tune the details of your vision. Together we will review all options that are available with materials, styles and trends. We are associated with several professional architects in the area and together we make the whole design process easy for you. 3-D digital rendering is available as well.

  6. Town permits- We will assume the responsibilities of all paperwork that the town requires.

  7. Making your vision reality- With all the prep work complete, it is now time to construct your dreams. Our skilled crews will swiftly make your visions come to life before your eyes so that you can enjoy them as soon as possible.

  8. Follow upWe enjoy seeing how we've positively impacted the every day lives of our customers. As standard practice we call back our customers four months after job completion to ensure that you are entirely happy with our work.
